Really nice Mary, the soft colors, the reeds and the reflections, plus the gorgeous GBH! f/v
Mary McAvoy replied:
Thanks Kate. Often in a photo, for me, there is a "soft spot" or a inspiring focal point - something beyond the visual. In this photo the soft spot is the reeds and their reflection, which together form what I see as runes. Of course I love other things in the photo as well but those reeds really are "it" for me! Thanks again -

Mary this photo is a STUNNER! You have many wonderful photos of one of my all time favorite birds, the GBH!
Mary McAvoy replied:
Thanks Phil! About once a year I get a keeper!

Thanks John. It was one of those moments when it all came together for a nice shot!
Jeanne Kay Juhos
Lovely composition!
Mary McAvoy replied:
Thanks Jeanne - I think this photo was inspired - by nature moreso than by me! What I love is the grass blades and their mirror image on the water. They create what look to me like runes. I love this shot - everything about it.

Lovely! They are such sneaky birds...there one minute, and flapping off the next. It takes patience to capture one in the open like this. Great job, Betty! He's beautiful.
Mary McAvoy replied:
Thanks for your comment! I have hundreds of shots of this bird....and about one in a hundred is worth printing! Mary
